Hey. Hi. Hello
Im Emma and the girl in ‘The Girl with Grief’. I am here to share my story in the hope of helping others! Firstly, I want to say thanks for joining me, whether your friends or family, someone with grief or supporting someone grieving I appreciate that you’re here.
I’m Emma a 25-year-old girl who lost her mum suddenly 10 years ago. I am currently living in Bristol, England. I grew up in London and have travelled a lot in the last couple of years.
It took me a long time to accept my grief was going to last forever, I was always the strong one, the one that put on a front, and at the time I just didn’t know how to express how I felt so I pushed it all to the back of my mind. 10 years on, 10 years of learning, 10 years of accepting I am now ready to share my story and experience in the aim that I can make a different to at least a one person’s life.
I struggled with spelling and writing as a child and was diagnosed with dyslexia in my 3rd year at university. Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that can cause problems with reading, writing and spelling. So, as you could imagine writing a blog is going to be difficult but I didn’t want this to stop me from sharing my story. I apologise in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes you see along the way.
My life was flipped upside down on the 1st July 2010 and here I am on the 1st July 2020 letting the world in.
I hope you find some comfort in the Girl with Grief and anyone that has been affected by loss in anyway please feel free to reach out via Instagram @thegirlwithgrief I’m not a professional but I’d love to chat xx
